When I look charmeuse up in Wikipedia I find that Charmeuse is a lightweight fabric with a satin finish - lustrous and reflective. It can be silk, or a synthetic lookalike such as polyester. Silk charmeuse is more expensive and delicate, but is softer and a better insulator. Charmeuse differs from plain satin and is softer and lighter. Charmeuse is well suited to lingerie, flowing evening gowns, and drapey blouses. Now that's an awesome look - a combo of lingerie and evening gown and when it's done right, oh my!
